Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training is a FEMA-sponsored program (in the U.S.) that teaches volunteers how to safely and effectively assist during emergencies or disasters until professional responders arrive.
It’s about disaster preparedness and response at the community level.
The goal is to help ordinary people:
·Prepare for and respond to natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires, tornadoes, etc.)
·Help their families, neighbors, and communities stay safe
·Support professional responders when they are overwhelmed
